Recidiviz

Recidiviz is a nonprofit technology organization focused on improving the criminal justice system. Founded in 2018, it aims to reduce incarceration rates, enhance community re-entry, and promote public safety through data-driven solutions. The organization offers an open-source criminal justice data platform that aggregates and standardizes data from various agency databases, providing real-time insights for corrections directors, probation and parole officers, and policymakers. The platform includes tools that assist parole officers in identifying individuals needing support, help pre-sentence investigators with data-driven recommendations, and streamline workflows for parole and probation staff. Recidiviz collaborates with 19 state departments of corrections, impacting nearly half of the U.S. prison and community supervision population. Their efforts have supported over 156,000 individuals in successful re-entry and generated significant state savings. By emphasizing collaboration with those with lived experience in the justice system, Recidiviz aims to create a more equitable and effective criminal justice system.
