Nodal Exchange

Nodal Exchange is a derivatives exchange based in Tysons Corner, Virginia, that focuses on price, credit, and liquidity risk management solutions for the North American commodity markets. Established in 2007 and starting trading in 2009, it was the first exchange to offer locational futures contracts specifically for U.S. electricity markets. Nodal Exchange is recognized for its extensive range of electric power locational futures and options contracts, as well as environmental futures contracts. The exchange provides over 1,000 power contracts across various U.S. power markets, along with 83 environmental futures and options products. It also offers natural gas contracts based on the Henry Hub market. All transactions are cleared through Nodal Clear, its subsidiary, which enhances risk management and capital efficiency. Nodal Exchange is regulated by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and is part of the EEX Group, serving a diverse clientele that includes utilities, energy producers, and financial institutions.
