Stellar Development Foundation

The Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) is a nonprofit organization focused on creating equitable access to the global financial system through blockchain technology. Founded with the support of Stripe CEO Patrick Collison, SDF aims to promote financial inclusion by leveraging the Stellar network, which facilitates fast, secure, and low-cost cross-border transactions using its native cryptocurrency, Lumens (XLM). SDF supports the growth of the Stellar ecosystem by providing strategic direction, funding, and partnerships. It collaborates with various stakeholders, including MoneyGram and the United Nations, to enhance financial access and support humanitarian efforts. Notably, SDF has enabled the conversion of cryptocurrencies to cash through its partnership with MoneyGram and has facilitated the launch of innovative financial products, such as the first tokenized U.S. mutual fund by Franklin Templeton on the Stellar network.
