LAIKA Studios, based in Portland, Oregon, is an animation company that specializes in stop-motion feature films and commercial projects, including advertisements and music videos. Founded in 2005, LAIKA emerged from the rebranding of Will Vinton Studios and is named after Laika, the Soviet space dog. The company aims to push storytelling boundaries while providing a creative home for talented artists and stop-motion professionals. LAIKA operates two main divisions: Laika Entertainment, which focuses on feature films, and Laika/house, which handles commercial work. The studio is known for its unique combination of traditional stop-motion techniques and modern technology, such as stereoscopic 3D and 3D printing.
