Innovative Hematology

Innovative Hematology, Inc. (IHI) is a non-profit healthcare organization based in Indiana, specializing in comprehensive hematology care since its establishment in 1998. As a certified medical home, IHI serves as the parent organization for the Indiana Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center, recognized as a center of excellence. The organization employs between 51 and 200 staff members and focuses on treating a wide range of blood disorders, from common nutritional anemias to rare clotting and bleeding conditions. IHI offers specialized care for bleeding disorders, sickle cell disease, and thalassemia, along with a cardiovascular risk reduction program aimed at hematology patients. The organization also conducts extensive clinical research, managing 50 active trials, including studies on novel coagulation factors. IHI is committed to global outreach, providing care to underserved populations, including local Amish communities and international partnerships in Kenya and India. Under the leadership of Dr. Amy Shapiro, IHI has gained recognition for its patient-centered approach and contributions to hematology education.
