GIC

GIC (Government of Singapore Investment Corporation) is a sovereign wealth fund established in 1981, wholly owned by the Government of Singapore. Its primary mission is to manage and invest Singapore’s foreign reserves, aiming to preserve and enhance their international purchasing power by achieving long-term returns that exceed global inflation. GIC employs a long-term, multi-asset investment approach, managing a diverse portfolio that includes equities, bonds, private equity, real estate, venture capital, infrastructure, and fixed income. With a global presence, GIC operates 10 to 11 offices in key financial centers and employs over 2,100 professionals, investing in more than 40 countries. The fund's sole client is the Government of Singapore, which utilizes the returns generated to support national priorities such as economic development and social programs. As of mid-2025, GIC's assets under management are estimated to be between US$744 billion and US$800 billion, positioning it among the largest sovereign wealth funds globally.
