Geisinger

Geisinger is a comprehensive regional health care system based in Danville, Pennsylvania, serving over 3 million patients across 45 counties in central, south-central, and northeastern Pennsylvania, as well as parts of southern New Jersey. Founded in 1915 by Abigail Geisinger, the system has expanded from a single hospital to one of the largest integrated health systems in the United States. Geisinger operates ten hospitals, including the flagship Geisinger Medical Center, and employs more than 30,000 staff members, including around 1,700 physicians. The system emphasizes integrated care, research, education, and innovation. It offers a wide range of acute and specialty care services, health insurance through the Geisinger Health Plan, and medical education at the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. Additionally, Geisinger supports research initiatives to enhance healthcare delivery and outcomes and provides an air ambulance service for critical patient transport.
