Carilion Clinic

Carilion Clinic is a not-for-profit integrated health care organization based in Roanoke, Virginia. It serves nearly 1 million people across a 20-county region in central and southwestern Virginia and southern West Virginia. As the largest private employer in the Roanoke Valley, Carilion has over 13,200 employees, including 737 physicians across more than 70 specialties at 225 practice sites. Founded in 1899, Carilion Clinic has grown into a comprehensive health system that operates seven hospitals, including the flagship Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, which is the region’s only Level I trauma center. The organization offers a wide range of health care services, including cancer care, cardiology, neurology, orthopaedics, and women’s health. Carilion also emphasizes medical education and research through its partnership with Virginia Tech, operating the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Research Institute.
